Socialization meeting on a Single Meat Marketing Protocol

Published at: 11 May 2022

Producers' organizations that have developed meat marketing experiences were invited to participate in the FONTAGRO project.

Producers' organizations that have developed meat commercialization experiences were summoned within the framework of the FONTAGRO project "Adaptation to climate change of family livestock" from INTA's Extension Agencies in Ing. Jacobacci and Bariloche, the Plataforma de Innovación Territorial (PIT) de Secano de Río Negro: Aportes a la innovación territorial con énfasis en el entramado ganadero extensivo del área de secano de la provincia de Rio Negro and the INTA Local Project: Consolidación e innovación de la comercialización de carne como un proceso protocolizado, formalizado y seguro, en el marco de las organizaciones de productores de la Región Sur de Río Negro, in order to promote the joint sale of meat using short marketing circuits.

Although each organization since 2013 has participated in joint sales, the proposal in this case, is to promote within the framework of the Network of organizations a single marketing protocol, which must be socialized among the 8 participating organizations: Pilquiniyeu del Limay Community and the Cooperatives Amulein Com, Nueva Esperanza, Ganadera Indígena, Calibui, Coopesur and La Amistad and the Grupo de Ganaderos de Los Menucos. In addition to socializing the commercialization protocol, it was necessary to plan the offer and generate agreements for the sale of animals in December 2021, which would take place in the facilities of the Bariloche Community Market.

The commercial protocol, as an instrument, will allow to organize the whole internal process within each organization, giving commercial predictability and adding adherents within each organization involved. At the same time it will improve the homogeneity and quality of the meat product sold. On the other hand, it promotes the continuity of processes and the strengthening of the organization.
This modality of ordering the commercial process generates an opening of channels and market niches for livestock with higher demand (lambs and kids) but also for livestock with lower demand (capons, sheep and goats).
