Public defense of the thesis project: "Business plan for the offering of nanofertilizers based on titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and zeolite, from the Industrial University of Santander."

Undergraduate students from the Industrial Engineering program at the Industrial University of Santander, Shelsy Dayanna Claro Melo and Andrés Camilo Ulloa Álvarez, under the guidance of Professor Ginna Paola Castro Castaño and co-supervised by Professor Mónica Andrea Botero Londoño, successfully defended their thesis project titled: "Business plan for the offering of nanofertilizers based on titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and zeolite, from the Industrial University of Santander," as a Spin-Off proposal focused on the production and sale of a product to complement the fertilizers used by farmers in their crops.

The thesis project was carried out within the framework of the project "Nanofertilizers in Soil and Nitrous Oxide Emissions," funded by FONTAGRO and executed by the Industrial University of Santander (Colombia), in collaboration with the Technical University of Manabí (Ecuador). Its objective was to develop a business plan for the offering of nanofertilizers based on titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and zeolite, for the agricultural sector, from the Industrial University of Santander.

To achieve the mentioned objective, regulatory guidelines for production and commercialization were identified, particularly emphasizing the importance of registration with the ICA. A national market study was conducted, revealing the interest among farmers for a new nanofertilizer product, especially in the departments of Santander and Norte de Santander, provided that the product enhances crop productivity. A business model was designed using the Canvas tool, allowing for the definition of product name, logo, label, marketing strategies, among other aspects. An administrative structure was proposed, with the company's Manager as the leader, followed in hierarchy by the commercial manager and the production assistant. Additionally, an economic and financial evaluation of the Spin-Off was carried out considering 5 years for three possible scenarios, indicating the feasibility of launching this newly created company. Finally, strategies were proposed to mitigate or enhance the environmental and social impact, along with an action plan for the implementation of the Spin-Off.
