Family broiler farms in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area were visited by specialists providing advice on poultry production, animal health and welfare.
The metropolitan area of Buenos Aires has more than 20 breeding centers and family producers of broiler chickens and laying hens. The advice of professional specialists during the visits of farms, where clinical diagnoses and recommendation regarding animal care and management are made, is essential for poultry production in the studied region. In addition to the advice, a representative sampling were performed of fecal droppings and fomites from poultry pens, in the summer season, to carry out parasitological diagnosis in the laboratories of the Institute of Pathobiology of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology.
