In this event, the Regional Fund for Agricultural Technology (FONTAGRO) will present the main results and lessons learned related to the forest monitoring activities executed under the Project “Climate Technology Transfer Mechanisms and Networks in Latin America and the Caribbean LAC”. The Project was implemented by the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) and funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF). Experts in the region, who helped execute different projects throughout the region, will be sharing their experience during this session. Also, a synthesis of key aspects on technology transfer in the agricultural sector, will be provided.

The event will be held in Spanish and simultaneous interpretation to English will be available.

FONTAGRO was created 1998 with the purpose of promoting the increase of the competitiveness of the agri-food sector, ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources and the reduction of poverty in the region. The objective of FONTAGRO is to establish itself as a sustainable financing mechanism for the development of agricultural technology and innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean and Spain, and to establish a forum for the discussion of priority topics of technological innovation.
