Biography

Graduated in Agronomic Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1981) and Master in Food Science and Technology from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1985).

He is currently a researcher at EMBRAPA since 1990. He has experience in Food Science and Technology, with an emphasis on Chemistry, Physics, Physical Chemistry and Food Biochemistry. and food raw materials, which mainly act on the following topics: food biofortification, food safety of GMOs, rice, beans, wheat, technological quality, processing, parboiled rice and quality management systems ISO 17025, GLP (OECD), ISO 9000 , ISO 1400, SA8000.

Leader of the Brazilian activities in the BioFORT project "Crops for better nutrition", being responsible for the coordination of product and cultivar development activities, taking into account the interface between improvement, food technology and nutrition activities, in a network of 150 people.
