Biography

Associate Professor-Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

Biochemist, with a Master's and Doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Associate professor of the Department of Biology of the School of Sciences (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana) since March 2006. Researcher and leader of the research group of Plant and crop Biology.

Expert in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry of Bacteria and Plants, Molecular Genetics and biotechnology. Analysis of omic data derived from next generation sequencing.

During his training and research career in different countries (Cuba, France, Spain, England and Colombia), he has been addressing several questions and issues related to environment, soil and crop protection, always seeking to involve interdisciplinary teams and strenghten regional and international research collaborations.

  • Physiology and Molecular Biology of abiotic stress in plants
  • Regulation of metabolic pathways in plants
  • Seed Physiology and Biochemistry
  • Propagation, characterization, improvement and use of plant resources
  • Insect pathology and biological control
