Strengthening FONTAGRO-FORAGRO Cooperation

Executive Summary
This was a proposal to strengthen the Forum of the Americas for Agricultural Technological Research and Development (FORAGRO) with the collaboration of FONTAGRO. Specifically, it was proposed to support the XV Meeting of the Executive Committee and VII International Meeting of FORAGRO where the results of the external evaluation and the proposal for reengineering FORAGRO were presented, and dialogue on agricultural innovation was promoted as a central challenge for the agricultural sector in the region in the coming years.
The technological solution
FORAGRO is a space for debate and mobilization of agreements on the main issues of agriculture in the Americas and, together with other actors, forms the Hemispheric System of Technology and Agri-Food Innovation.
Results
- Contribute to the reorganization of FORAGRO while identifying the basic elements for cooperation with FONTAGRO.
- Identify efficient mechanisms of FONTAGRO-FORAGRO cooperation.
Beneficiaries
Researchers from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Spain, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, who will see their networks strengthened.
