Biography

He is an Agricultural Engineer, graduated from the National University of Cuyo. He obtained the title of M.Sc. at the University of Florida (Thesis: Improved seed germination and stand establishment in sweet corn carrying the sh2 gene) and Ph.D. at the University of Florida (Thesis: Seed vigor and germination of shrunken-2 maize).

He joined INTA as a Fellow in the extension area at AER La Consulta (1980). He was Director of the EEA San Juan (1992-2003) and Regional Director of CR Mendoza –San Juan (2003-2014). He currently works as a Consultant Professional.

He is Professor of the Plant Physiology Chair at the FCEFyN and FI of the National University of San Juan and Professor of the Master of Horticulture at UNCuyo. He leads a working group aimed at determining responses in different species to stress situations, especially those of a hydric and / or saline nature. Another line of work is the study of the physiology of the germination of native and introduced forage species from arid and semi-arid regions.

He has been and is director, co-director and jury of bachelor's, master's, doctorate, post-doctorate and scholarship theses. He has published numerous articles in scientific journals, book chapters and books nationally and internationally. He has led and leads competitive IDi projects for national and international financing.
