Biography

Veterinarian from the National University in Bogotá and Doctor in Agricultural Sciences from the Technical University of Berlin in Germany.

He has been a researcher in different international organizations (International Center for Tropical Agriculture - CIAT and International Development Research Center -IDRC) and national (Colombian Agricultural Institute - ICA and Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation - CORPOICA). Since 1996 he has been a professor at the University of Caldas in the areas of production systems and project management. Extensive experience in university management as Rector of the University of Caldas, Executive Director of the Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN) and President of the Andean University Council (CONSUAN). He has been Director of the Master's Program in Agricultural Production Systems and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Consortium for the Sustainable Development of the Andean Ecoregion (CONDESAN) and member of the Editorial Board of several scientific journals.
