Agricultural Engineer from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the Technical University of Manabí, Portoviejo, Manabí, Ecuador. He holds a Master’s degree (Mg) in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture from the Agrarian University of Ecuador, Guayaquil, Ecuador. He worked for 32 years at the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIAP), Portoviejo Experimental Station, Manabí, Ecuador. He has been an accredited researcher by SENESCYT since 2017. He has conducted research on cassava, citrus, and passion fruit crops, which led to the release of two high-yielding and high-quality cassava varieties, as well as one variety of passion fruit. He has published several articles mainly related to citrus, tamarind, and passion fruit. Additionally, he has authored several books, manuals, and technical guides on the agronomic management of these species. He is currently a research professor at the State University of Southern Manabí, Jipijapa, Ecuador.
