Biography

Agricultural Engineer, Master in Seed Technology from Mississippi State University, United States. Master in Plant Production in Protected Crops and Doctor in Protected Agriculture, both from the University of Almería, Spain. During his forty years of service, he has served as a seed technologist in the Basic and Registered Seed Program of IDIAP, an agricultural researcher in biological control. From 2016 to 2018, he led the Validation Project for the Intensive Rice System (SRI) with funds from FONTAGRO. He is currently co-executor for Panama of the Protected Horticulture Project financed by FONTAGRO and co-executor for Panama of the Project Efficient use of water and nitrogen using stable isotopes in SRI, financed by ARCAL. Likewise, he leads the SRI massification project at the national level that includes family farming producers, as well as mechanized rice producers, a flagship project of the National Government, which has proposed as a strategy, rice as a crop of safety and security importance. food and nutritional sovereignty. Likewise, he is an evaluator of Projects and of the Scholarship Program for Doctoral studies of the National Secretariat of Sciences, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT). He has received scholarships from AID (United States), FAO, the Government of Taiwan, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and SENACYT.
