FONTAGRO announces the winners of its 2016 Photo Contest on the topic: “In a new light: Family Farming in Latin American, the Caribbean, and Spain.”

More than 680 applications were received, from the 15 FONTAGRO member countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, España, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela)

An independent board of experts from Mexico, Bolivia, Chile, and the USA assessed the photographs at the FONTAGRO offices, and selected 12 finalists and three winning photographs. The photographs were assessed based on originality, their effective portrayal of family farming, the excellence of their technique, composition, general impact, and artistic merit.

Photographs shall be submitted online, in digital format, through the FONTAGRO website. The winners of each category in the FONTAGRO 2016 Photo Contest received a US$1,000 monetary award.

The finalist photographs will be exhibited at the head offices of FONTAGRO in Washington, DC from May 17, and they will be published in the FONTAGRO website.
