Message from the Organizers:

Dear Friends:

I have the great honor to inform you that, the XV Lupin Conference of the International Lupin Association (ILA) will be held in Cochabamba, Bolivia, from March 18th to 21nd, 2019. The Local Organizing Committee is constituted by two important Bolivian institutions: The Pairumani Phytoecogenetic Center and the PROINPA Foundation. The Scientific Committee includes important entities and colleagues from Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Germany,Mexico, Italy Peru, Poland, Portugal, Spain and UK.

In the Andes Mountains (above 3,000 masl), the Lupinus mutabilis species, known as tarwi or chocho, is cultivated by small farmers. During the Conference, it is planned to have a field visit for going through the tarwi crops, interact with farmers and taste the Andean gastronomy in the countryside.

The Conference and the visit of each one of you, coming from different countries and continents, is a great opportunity to promote the production, research and consumption of tarwi in Bolivia. Also, it is a great time to meet and interact with prestigious ILA researchers with great experience in lupins.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I ask you to please reserve your agendas to attend the XV ILC 2019. We will have magistral conferences, regular lectures and posters. There will be simultaneous translation (English-Spanish and vice versa) for presentations and oral sessions. For now, on this website, you can find general information about the conference, as well as about Cochabamba, important tourist places in Bolivia, the Grand Hotel Cochabamba, where the Congress will take place, etc. We will progressively include more information.

At the request of several interested parties, an effort was made to lower the cost of participation in the XV ILC 2019. Please review the Fees and Payments section.

www.internationallupinconference.org, to register and submit your abstracts.

The abstract submission date has been extended until November 30, 2018.

I look forward to welcoming you in Cochabamba on March 2019.

With warmest regards,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee

Antonio Gandarillas
