Contest of Successful cases on innovation for family agriculture 2012

The Regional Fund for Agricultural Technology (FONTAGRO), jointly with its two sponsors the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), announces the Contest of Successful Cases on Innovation for Family Agriculture 2012. The purpose of this contest is to document successful experiences and lessons learned, and contribute to a better understanding of the innovation process in family agriculture in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). This call for proposals has funds available from FONTAGRO and IICA, which could be complemented with resources from other international agencies with similar mission as that of the Fund. This initiative was approved by FONTAGRO’s Board of Directors (BOD) to contribute to systematize successful experiences with innovators in the agricultural value chains, and to disseminate these cases widely within and beyond the LAC Region. By disseminating the lessons learned and their success factors, FONTAGRO hopes to raise awareness about the importance to invest in agricultural innovation. These cases will also be utilized in capacity building activities on agricultural innovation.
